Dawn purchased this car in January of 1983. The car is now on about it's third incarnation since we purchased it. It received fairly extensive mechanical and cosmetic overhauls between 1984 and 1988, and was pretty much a daily driver through 1998. Following the mechanical completion of my 1961 Vette reconstruction, and a bit of drag racing and road racing, it was time to refresh the car.

Following the sucess of upgrading the suspension to C4 corvette suspension components, and a LT1/700R4 swap to my '61 Vette, it was decided to not mess with a winning formula. Art Rasmussen makes a replacement subframe for the new suspension, and we found a deal that could not be passed up on a 97 LT1 and 4L60 with about 8,000 miles - about 1/3 of what I paid on the 93 motor and tranny in the Vette.

The interior will get fresh carpets and a bit of cleanup, but the flo-fit seats installed in 87 are still servicable. The body will be mediablasted, and 10 years of road warts will be removed. The 10 bolt rear end will stay, with fresh 3.55's and an auburn posi already installed.
