GM High Tech Performance feature article

I couldn't believe my eyes!  An email from Rick Jensen of GMHTP saying he wanted to put my car in his magazine.  Woohoo!  Rick made arrangements with ace photographer Andrew Shear to meet me in Morro Bay, halfway between Andrew's home in southern Cal and mine in northern Cal.  On the appointed day, I plugged in a pair of earplugs, rolled down the windows, and set off on my 220 mile adventure.  Not more than 30 minutes into the trip I was on the cell to AAA for a flatbed ride home.  Turns out my several-year-old Crane PS91 coil decided to choose this particular day to expire.

"No harm no foul" sez Rick, so we scheduled another weekend.  The new MSD 8251 coil didn't let me down, so the second trip went much better.  I even got to meet a SoCal CHiP officer, who took exception to my 2-gear burnout on highway 1.  Amazingly, he did not give me a ticket, or even ask to see my license.  Thank you sir!!!  He did mention that the next time he would escort me to jail and impound the car.

I tried to keep the file size reasonable for these pix.  If you want good resolution, buy the magazine!  June 2005.
