Boom #6, snapped T56 mainshaft

4/28/01: I went to the strip yesterday. First time this year (01), and the first time since running my new best. I had real slicks and skinnies this time instead of ET Streets in the back and GSCs on salad shooters in the front, and was hoping the improved traction would net me a 10.5 or better. Instead, when I dumped the clutch on the last yellow, the car didn't move. The reason why is pretty clear in the pictures below. That's my brand new mainshaft (see Boom #?) that snapped in half after just one attempted launch.
So I've had it with this drivetrain. The T56 will be rebuilt and sold, along with the Street Twin. In it's place will go a TH400 and a GearVendors overdrive.
02/9/03 update. Ok, no GearVendors OD yet. Man, that thing is exPENsive! I'm trying to adapt to cruising at 3500 rpm.
