Shooting for 1000 hp, page 5: nice pipes

Craig "Top of the" Hill did such a nice job building all the intercooler plumbing that a few extra bux for shiny ceramic coating seemed like a good idea.  The result is just freaking gorgeous!  The 4" 1-piece inlet shown below center and right is a work of art.

Now that the pipes were done, it was time to see if I could put everything together.  It's times like these when I remind myself that paying a little more for quality workmanship pays off in the end.  Everything fit together exactly the way I hoped it would.  Even the 4" inlet was easy to thread into position.  The new, big K&N slipped into place just missing the Mondo bypass and the fender.  I love it!

The intercooler is pretty vulnerable hanging out in the breeze, so I asked Top of the Hill to build a "nerf bar" that would also help support the front fascia.  You'll probably have to click on the thumbnail to make sense of the picture.  They also began the construction of what will be a sheet metal tube connecting the grill opening to the intercooler fins.  I want all the air entering the grill area to pass through those fins.  The last pic shows the Mondo bypass flange.
