Shooting for 1000 hp, page 2, putting it in the car

Mike Blackstone told me the engine was done, but the old motor-hauling V'ger was long gone, and so was my Silverado.  Sure hope it'll fit in the back of my wife's grand Cherokee.  It did, and nothing got boogered up in the process.  Naturally, the first thing to do was to bolt up the new ys-trim.  Madman & Co did a good job on the brackets and pulleys - everything fits fine so far.  The Spearco intercooler will be a challenge to install and plumb, though.

People keep asking me about the ugly warts on my valve covers.  Those zits provide clearance for the shaft rockers.  The intercooler pic shows that I finally smoothed and painted the JB Weld.  Maybe some day I'll pop for some sexy tall billet covers.  Or not.  I kinda like that the engine looks ho-hum ordinary when I pop the hood.

OK, fine, everything fits on the engine stand.  What about under the hood.  It's *tight*, but it fits.  The plug wire isn't bent so hard that it will fracture, and there is enough blower-to-frame-rail clearance for engine movement.  Both factory fans, however, will have to go.  The passenger side is co-located with the HD Mez water pump and the driver side wants to be where the blower idler pulley is.

After researching fan options for awhile (Google ROCKS!), I settled on a Spal dual-11" fan module (30100846).  Naturally, it didn't fit right away.  But after spending a Saturday afternoon with a 3" cutoff wheel on a die grinder, it looks like it came on the car.  Almost.  I'll post install pix one of these days.  Meanwhile, the pic below shows that the Spal clears the idler pulley by a country mile.

The new intercooler plumbing caused another round of relocating stuff, like the cruise control, and (Tadaa!) the Acceleronics Impedance Converter.

The Crane ignition box got moved, too, but to the place everybody else put it in the first place.  The original location is on the left, standard location on the right.  I need a different coolant recovery tank, too, but that problem isn't solved yet.
